This is Why...

Every piece of furniture I own is either from the thrift store or hand-me-downs. (A story told in pictures)

Two seconds ago, this couch was perfect. Throw covering just so, cushions all in order. NOW LOOK!

Scooter says: "Cushions weren't made to be looked at. They were made to be laid on."

Sampson has perfected the sweet and innocent look. "No, Mom.  I'm not licking the pillow."  Note the bare edge of the pillow where there should be fringe? Yep, that was Sampson's work

Tearing the couch apart sure is hard work! Looks like Scoot needs a nap after all that.

Sampson knows that if he makes me smile/laugh/go "Aww! How cute!" I'll forgive his horrible furniture manners.  He sure is one smart boy...either that, or I'm just a big ole softie.
Sometimes, I feel like that old lady in that old Eddie Murphy movie (I can't remember which one, but it was new when I was like ten) that keeps screaming at her kids, "We cain't have nice things!"  At times like this, I know exactly how she feels.

  1. Can definitely sypmathize...we have the rattiest looking bedspread, but I don't want to spend money on a new one beacause our dog will just ruin it.
