Friday Five: Honesty Will Get You EVERYWHERE

So, the ever fabulous Cheyanne gave me an award.  I am honored.  I am humbled.  I am....HONEST.  Don't believe me?  Check it out.

So, I'm assuming that this honor was bestowed upon me because I give my opinions freely, and they are honest (sometimes to the point of brutality)  *shrugs* This is how I am folks.

Anywho, as with most awards, there are a few conditions.  First, I must tell you TEN things about me.  I know.  I know.  This is supposed to be a Friday Five post, but give me a break here, people.  Being honest doesn't mean I'm always truthful (yes, I'm channeling Arlene Fleet of GODS IN ALABAMA)  So, here we go...

Ten Things You Probably Didn't(and Quite Possibly Never Wanted to) Know About Karla Nellenbach

1.  People didn't start calling me Karlie until I was 19.  Before that, it was just Karla (with a K).  Now, it's either one.  I answer to both...well, I'll probably answer to "Hey, Bitch" as well. *shrugs*

2.  Even though I love nothing more than to write a tale of teen tragedy, my life is fairly drama free.  Not that I'm bragging or anything.  I have had my ups and downs, but I KNOW that even the worst moments in my life don't hold a candle to what others have endured, and for that I am supremely grateful.

3.  If I were a FRIEND, I'd be Ross.  Yes, my lovelies.  I'm a big dork who loves puzzles and while I always seem to have the best of intentions, I end up f**king things up.  No, I've never drunkenly married in Vegas, lived with a monkey (well...a couple of my boyfriends might fall into the ape-like category), or slept with the copy place girl with the excuse that "We were on a break!" but you get the drift.  So, I guess I should change number 1 to include Ross as the names I acknowledge as my own?

4.  My favorite book ever is PRIDE AND PREJUDICE by the incomparable Jane Austen.  Surprising, huh?  Especially considering, I'm not huge on romance novels.  What can I say?  I'm a puzzle :)  (and yes, my favorite movie version is the one with Keira Knightley in it)

5.  My blog title came about because I am one of those annoying people who always, and I mean ALWAYS thinks she needs to have the last word...on everything.  It's a disease.  I know.  But, don't worry.  I'm going to meetings and taking medication.  Hopefully, in time, I can lick this thing and become a functioning member of society again.

6.  I have recently developed an obsession with Dunkin Donuts' Iced Carmel Lattes.  YUM

7.  I have allergies (pet dander is one of the top ones), but that hasn't stopped me from being adopted by two overgrown puppies and a very fat, very old, sometimes cranky cat.

8.  I have a terrible fear of bridges.  I'm always scared to drive over them, worried that it'll collapse beneath me, or my car will somehow fly off.  Irrational, I know, but that's how it is.

9.  I have a tiny (okay....maybe not tiny) geek crush on Matthew Gray Gubler.

10. But, if I'm going to highjack a celebrity and lock him in my basement, it would be one of these men: Jeremy Renner (left) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (right)  *sigh, swoon* Enough said.

Okay, Friends.  Now, I get to pass this fun award off to a few other Blogging Buddies....Are you ready?  I grant the HONEST SCRAP award to Candyland, Karla Calalang, and Caitlin Darrell :)

  1. Thanks SO much for the award! *huggles*

  2. We agree about bridges. The ones too long to hold your breath all the way across are the worst. *shudder*

  3. I agree, DD's iced caramel latte's rock...they're like a reverse iced caramel machiatto from Starbucks w/o the huge price tag:)

  4. Awww Ross was always my favourite Friend - coincidence that you consider yourself a Ross? I don't think so!

Thanks so much for the award, I'll do my post after the weekend! Yay!

  5. If I were a Friend I would be Monica. Not just b/c I love to cook but because of how neurotic she is. I totally relate.

  6. Karla (TOKwK): You're welcome :)

Linda: For sure...I try not go over any bridges that I can't cross in one breath ;)

Jennifer: I'm not one for Starbucks, probably because I am so cheap :)

Caitlin: Aw, you're welcome! Can't wait to see who you pass it on to :)

Kelly: I knew it! We are related in some alternate TV universe!

  7. your favorite book is pride and prejudice. I LOVE THIS FACT ABOUT YOU. thanks for sharing!
