People think that because I have a certain fondness for overly-emotional, somewhat melodramatic, always tragic story lines that I am all long faces and epic sadness. Well, I'm here to tell you that it's just not true, and anyone who says any differently, well, he's a big fat liar pants. *crosses arms and nods* So, there.
And since I really had nothing planned for today--yes, I know that Tuesday is usually TEASER day...but I'm suffering from lazy writer syndrome, so NO TEASE FOR YOU--I thought I'd share with all you fabulous followers a few random things that make me smile.
The Mayhem Guy: (a.k.a. Dean Winters) I just love him, from the 'Random Windstorm' to the "I'm a hot chick' to the new one where he falls through the roof of the house. These commercials never fail to make me guffaw. Also, who is hotter than him? I mean, I thought he was definitely swoon-worthy back when he played Ryan O'Rielly on OZ, but somehow, he's just ten times more stutter-inducing now. Just saying.
My mother's reaction every time I talk to her while spying on my neighbor. Okay. First, I'll admit. I do spy on the guy. It's just weird how he's always doing something completely suspicious in his backyard in the middle of the night. (example: this last weekend he was digging in his backyard at 3am...3AM!!!) And, every time my mother calls me and halfway through the convo asks why we're whispering...well, I can't help but laugh at her response. First, she's silent, like she's trying to decide whether I'm joking or not. Next comes disbelief, followed closely by outrage--"You must call the police!" she yells into the phone--and then finally, a weary sigh and the admonishment that I really need to quit reading true crime books.
Also, my babies. For me, my dogs are my children and they are quite spoiled. Just look at this pic. That floppy-eared, long-nosed, handsome devil on the left is my youngest puppy, Samson. On the right is his sister from the same mister who happens to be my parents' girl Nikki. Now, you tell me. How can you not smile when faced with such cuteness?
My point exactly. That's it for me today, minions. Randomness over...er...at least for now, that is.
Karla of House Nellenbach, First of Her Name, the Uncool, Queen of Sarcasm, Treadmill Battles, and the First Cup of Coffee, Khalessi of the Great Gray Toyota, Breaker of Lawnmowers, Mother of Dogs (and one Cranky Cat). These are my words. This is my life. You have been warned.

Desperately Searching for Karla
When I first started blogging, I paid little attention to the details...well, you know...except for grammar and that kind of stuff. My page was pretty random, my posts even more off the wall. I'd just ramble on and on about anything that came to mind.
The only semi-coherent part of my post schedule was my Teaser Tuesday posts, in which I beat you senseless with snips from whatever project I happened to be working on at the time. Since we've been floating happily together in the blogsphere, I've complete two manuscripts :)
Along with my (usually) weekly teasers, I ranted about all sorts of silly little things. Like my penchant for spying on the neighbors I'm sure are serial killers, my cute, sweet little (well, okay, not so little) dogs, my crazy family, my even crazier neighbor man (who BTW is not really my neighbor...well, not anymore), and of course, my Scrabble-cheating grandmother.
And, during all that time, I never once clicked on the Stats button on my Blogger dashboard. To be honest, I didn't really want to know how few people were interested in my endless monologues.
With long fingers of temptation and promises of hidden knowledge, the Stats button beckoned me. Yes friends, I caved. I pushed the button.
And, guess what I found out. Go ahead. Guess.
I have more readers than what I first thought...more than just my parents, my beta readers, and my circle of Twitterati. In fact, I'm strangely popular in Brazil and Russia...and Poland. Hmm...I don't speak Portuguese, Russian, Polish, or really any other language besides the bastardized English that is American. Also (and I'm still not sure how I feel about this), many, many, many peeps have found me and my little old blog by searching such colorful phrases as:
- The other ride
- Karla spice
- Paint his toes
Also, surprisingly enough, the posts that have seen the most traffic in recent days have been my Monday Funday posts of the past, particularly those with the Neighbor Man. Maybe I should bring them back?
Well, that's about all for this rant, folks. How about all you bloggers out there? What's the most out-there keyword search that's brought people to your corner of the net? I'd love to hear about it in the comments. If you need me, I'll be over in the corner, painting some dude's toes.
